SADIJ1: Song a Day in January (J for 1st month).
Hello! It’s been a long, long, LONG time since I last did a mental health song a day post. And yes, maybe I’m trying to bury my other last post into the oblivion of my blog. What can I say? Old habits die hard.
Onto this post, however!
“Meant To Be” by Bebe Rexha ft. Florida Georgia Line
“No need to go nowhere fast,
Let’s enjoy right here where we at.
Who knows where this road is supposed to lead,
We got nothing but time.
As long as you’re right here next to me,
Everything’s gonna be all right.
If it’s meant to be,
It’ll be, it’ll be,
Baby, just let it be.
So won’t you ride with me, ride with me?
See where this thing goes.”
The repetition of “let it be” reminds me of The Beatles song with a similar message. This song is actually rather short, and I just love how at the end it changes singer each line–that’s something I haven’t heard before, or at least, can’t recall hearing before. It is aesthetically pleasing to my ear holes.
I heard this song just today on the radio (104.1) and it sounded to me more like a country song (I don’t like country that much) and still, I found myself bobbing to the music. The lyrics, to me, are very calming. I feel that it fits into the sense of rock solid calm that I have hit. It reminds me of leaving things like life up to the universe to decide what happens–and that each thing that happens, I at least like to think happens for some particular reason, whether I know that reason or not. This song makes me think of starry nights and enjoying time with friends.
Maybe the future and the past are difficult, and still, we can take this very moment and be okay with it, even if it sucks. It will pass. I could see myself writing an article using this song soon.
It also makes me question my previous decisions, which is kinda rocking the boat, but maybe that’s okay. Keep on rocking out, peeps. ❤
