Liebster Award #4

Liebster Award

Hey everyone! Welcome back to yet another blog post. πŸ™‚ I did some FANCY artwork today, a bunch of IOS the last couple of days, and I’m hoping to still do a couple things left before the weekend really picks up. Maybe I’ll do a quick little update post too. πŸ™‚ After this one, that is!

Any who, it’s been a while since I’ve done a tag or award post, so here’s a super late one that I got nominated for from Bradscribe a couple months back!

The rules involve:

These images are from Google, by the way! Let’s start!

1 What is the best aspect about blogging?Β

Oh a tricky question! Hmmmm. I think the best aspect about blogging for me is being able to create a piece of art. In the sense that each blog post is unique and informative, creative and compassionate, a little bit of me sprinkled with a whole lot of others. πŸ™‚

2 Thor: Ragnarok or Justice League? Β

RAGNAROK!!!! I’m such a Marvel baby! πŸ™‚

3 Who is your favourite fictional character? Β

Probably the MCU Loki (Marvel Cinematic Universe). πŸ˜€ Especially after reading a shit ton of fanfiction about him so that you can resonate with his character faults and the shit he’s gone through in life (which is a mixture of everything, the mythology, the comics, the MCU and the fanfiction).

4 What music have you enjoyed listening to this week?

Probably still 1800 273 8255 by Logic. ^_^

5 What was the last line of movie dialogue that made you ROFL?

I still have Avengers Age of Ultron, Captain America’s line when he is battling one of the robots: “___ what? You didn’t finish!” πŸ™‚ I watched the movie again last week and it’s lingered in my mind since. It reminds me of those videos on Youtube where someone is saying something and the video just ENDS and you’re like… “Have what? HAVE WHAT? YOU DIDN’T FINISH”

6 Should one writer be allowed to change the background story or ethnicity of another writer’s character?

I think you can change the background story for sure (like what happens in fanfiction). Ethnicity is a little trickier, but if it’s like in fanfic–sure why not? There’s gender bending, Mpreg, homosexuality and more in the fanfic realm already so changing the ethnicity shouldn’t be such a big deal. Could offer a lot, even. Imagine a Spanish Loki…. hmph.

7 What do YOU consider to be the GREATEST Movie Ever Made?

I’m biased. I really enjoyed Demolition, and still have to movie review it. But I mark it high because it was literally a movie that saved my life. I owe that movie a lot. ❀ And myself, too!

8 Can you dance well?

I think dancing is jumping up and down…. so, no.

9 What should be done to improve Bradscribe?

Whatever you’re comfortable with! Or if you’re too comfortable, jump out of your comfort zone too! πŸ˜€

10 Could you live without chocolate?Β

11 We’ve analyzed their attack and there is a danger. Should I have your ship standing by?

Bitch, my ship is already SAILING. πŸ˜€

11 Random Facts about myself:

  1. I just recently learned what pop music is as a genre.
  2. I really love pop music and folk. And Eminem. Just Eminem. Most other rap scares me. XD
  3. I love listening to scary stories πŸ™‚ Narrators on Youtube are great!
  4. I’ve been doing creative writing since I was 9.
  5. I like drawing from a mindfulness/art therapy perspective.
  6. I give everyone in my life pseudonyms to protect their identity when discussing them on my blog.
  7. I need to make a list of those pseudonyms so I don’t forget spellings.
  8. I found out a supermarket nearby sells Italian Ice which is AWESOME
  9. This list is tough!
  10. I’m totes straight edge. (No to drugs/alcohol)
  11. I find it difficult to go into stores without buying more than what I need (AKA I went to CVS today for minty dog chews and got a journal and a couple lollipops (the lollipops were 2/$1 which is fine) but the journal was $7…. *looks around, whistling*)

I don’t have any people I can nominate off the top of my mind, but if you’d LIKE to do it, consider yourself nominated!!

My questions for you:

  1. Have you ever created a coping/hope box?
  2. If so, what is inside your coping box?
  3. If not, would you consider making one for yourself?
  4. Favorite book series?
  5. How many other blog awards have you completed in your blogosphere history?
  6. What are your tips/suggestions for people who want to start a blog but are too scared to?
  7. Do you have any cutesy pets?
  8. Your favorite pattern?
  9. Which style of therapy works best for your brain?
  10. Have you ever dyed your hair? What color?
  11. Favorite foods you regularly indulge in?

I think I will be planning other posts for this weekend tonight, which is totally what I said and didn’t do yesterday but this is actually the longest time I’ve been online in weeks. WEEKS I SAY!

And this weekend is BUSY. I’ll mention more in an update of life post after this. πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading!!

#Go Fix | Opening Our Mouths about Suicide Prevention Awareness

Sharing our stories is a powerful force of awakening. By sharing our stories we share with others how we, too, have felt alone, have felt vulnerable and have felt low. And by sharing our stories, we make it okay for other people to share theirs, to open their own mouths and to talk about the hard stuff rather than the fake pleasantries. By sharing our stories we unite with one another, feeling stronger and connected, able to love and be loved even more effectively. By sharing our stories we open ourselves up to other people’s kind blessings, their gratitude and their inspiration. We create a cycle, a wavelength, of love. And that love is necessary, no, sufficient, for preventing yet another loss of life fromΒ  suicide on this rock floating in space that we call Earth (or Midgard, for Thor fans ;)).

That’s the core for this new hashtag, #Go Fix. My dear and wonderfully loving and caring friend Imani, someone I’ve come to know within my short stay thus far on WordPress, has created this lovely hashtag for us to further expand the topic of mental health issues and suicide prevention awareness.

She wants us to start a revolution; a caring, loving revolution where we each, as human beings, look out for one another. Where we choose to be kinder, gentler, happier. Where we choose to spread love rather than hate, and that we reach out our hands to the strangers who feel their mouths are sewn shut from the horrors of depression and suicidal ideation. Let us, one by one, show each other that we are caring people, willing to open our souls and tell our stories of how we have survived, and are continuing to live, despite at one point in time being in that dark vortex. Or, for those who haven’t been suicidal, show too that you care, that you’re willing to have a conversation about suicide prevention, about mental health issues, and that you’re ready for society–all of our societies to change.

Let’s unite together and in one strong, unwavering voice, announce to break the silence. (Or fuck the silence, as I like to say). Let us spread the #Go Fix with our messages of strength, courage and hope.

Because life is worth living. And if you are feeling suicidal out there on this large, large rock of ours, I encourage you to reach out to someone and talk about how you are feeling. As Imani has suggested, I will too, that you can reach out to me if you need it. Send me an email from my contact page, I will be happy to chat with you and honored that you are showing your strength and courage.

Because suicide is a permanent action to a temporary crisis. Because everything in life changes. Because feelings are temporary. Because YOU are worthy of recovery and your life is worth living, and your story is worth sharing.

Take the day hour by hour, minute by minute. Practice your positive coping skills. Make a list of things you love and enjoy, make art, practice art therapy, build your #Recovery Home, attack the shit out of this #Go Fix by sharing your thoughts and using your voice. By being alive, you have a voice within you, stronger than you realize and more necessary than you are aware of for this discussion.

Spread awareness. Make a difference. We may not be able to stop the hate, the crime, the wars on this planet, yet if we each do our small part, we can make a powerful difference in just one person’s life. And the ripple effect from that? It could change the world.

With that prep out of the way, I’d like to share some artwork I did for this #Go Fix, as well as some quotes about suicide prevention I found via Google and my own Reasons to Live that I made up last year. (and hasn’t been updated since–not yet, at least).

My 64 Reasons to Live:

  7. Being inspired and receiving hope from the stories of others who have struggled with mental illness and have come to manage their lives again
  8. I want to make it to the day where I am grateful that I am alive and that I am doing well. I want to live through this difficult time to make it to the day where I’m glad that I didn’t end the pain. Where I can say I’m here and better for it.

My Thoughts:

It’s very, very interesting to have this opportunity to look back on the artwork I made, the notes I wrote, the reasons to live that I listed, and find so much of who I am today, of how I convey myself on this blog, there within the notes and art and papers.

I guess it just goes to show that the light within your true self, that may dim and get damaged as you go through difficult trials, can, under better circumstances, create a POWERFUL stream of light that extends beyond you and out into the galaxies.

I genuinely could not have imagined a year ago that I’d be sitting here in my room, at a lovely desk by the way, recording my long ago list of reasons to live and typing them up onto a place where I share so much of myself with the world around me.

I find it just fantastic and amazing that I’ve already begun to incorporate so many of my reasons to live into my life–maybe that’s what Recovery is truly all about. Again, it just goes to show how FAR we can travel from–from a darkness so toxic to a brightness so blindingly beautiful and hope hanging from the tree branches like apples. πŸ™‚

Finally, my drawing for #Go Fix:

I knew I wanted to use a quote for this piece and do some colorful flowers and such in the background, leaving the majority of it blank white space. I got more into the swirls and dips than I thought I would, as it turns out, but I got myself to finish the floral atmosphere at the top and have the swirls surrounding all of the page.

The quote is something that I wrote on my DA account in a journal when I began to feel better, and chose that rather than self-harming or attempting suicide, I’d choose for that moment, to show myself kindness, compassion and self-love. Hence, the saying above!

I didn’t always like how this was turning out, but I like it more as a finished product. It is a beautiful piece with an even deeper meaning and memory behind it. And the #Go Fix is written all down below. πŸ™‚

I hope you all have enjoyed this post!!!! ❀ Keep holding on. ❀ ❀ ❀

Black Cat Blue Sea Award #3

I’ve lost count ofΒ  the awards I’ve gotten nominated for. ^^’ Ooops. Ah well, there’s a whole folder dedicated for them at the bottom of the page! πŸ™‚

This nomination came in from:

Sober Girl who I really feel like is named Lindsey, or is that someone else? I keep mixing up people lately D:

But anywho, the lovely Sober Girl nominated me so I shall now be doing this award too! πŸ™‚ Before I forget, especially.

black cat blue sea awards

From Google!

My three questions are:

  1. What song currently describes your life?

Rachel Platten’s – Lonely Planet. Because it is AWESOME. And I love that lyric “I wanna know your name, wanna feel your joy, wanna feel your pain” and I think it describes me well right now.

  1. What motivates you to blog?

I’m realllllly starting to feel that recovery is a lifestyle, so making it my lifestyle is a great way to keep on blogging. Also, it keeps me busy!! I really need that in my life, too. I cannot imagine what I would have done this summer if I didn’t have this blog (other than getting a job, which would have been helpful) though I am planning on getting some work while in school in the fall semester. πŸ™‚ So yeah, just having a place to put my recovery thoughts is great and getting to interact with like-minded people is super swell as well. πŸ™‚

  1. What is one goal you have for this year?

One of my new year’s resolutions actually was to stay alive, so I did that one pretty damn well. Ahaha, and another was to read 10 books, which I’ve read 12 so far, so that’s snazzy!! Although one was a graphic novel, but I’ve counted it anyways. I have PLENTY more books to read before the end of the year too, so I may even double up the score!!

Because I liked one of the one’s Sober Girl answered :3

  1. What would your dream partner be like?

She’d definitely be a chick, for starters. And because this is a dream partner we’re talking about, I’ll make up some attributes, but also ones that could apply to a legit person if she ever stumbles across me. So, in my dream she’d be a black girl and she’d be supportive and compassionate. She’d like some of the things I like, maybe like reading and art, yet she’d also like different things, so that I could learn from her and be opened up to a whole other world. She’d be sweet and beautiful and I’d love her whether she was having her best day or her worst, because that’s what love is all about. And we’d be there for each other and live in our fancy dandy Recovery Home and everything would go blissfully–just imagine us drifting away in a hot air balloon now. *dreamy sigh* That’d be great.

Honestly though, some of those attributes are on target, if I do some value searching now for a partner. I have more journaling to do on the matter, though. But, a girl can dream, right? πŸ˜‰

Okay, for the three questions I’ll ask another!

  1. What is a life metaphor or quote that gets you through your darkest days?
  2. What do you value in a partner?
  3. Do you own any adult coloring books?

ANNNND I nominate these 3 buddies:

  • ….nah, I’m lazy again. I feel like I keep nominating the same peeps….sooooo if you are NEW to WP, you are NOMINATED by ME! Happy blogging πŸ˜‰

Stay safe, peeps. ❀ ❀ ❀

And find love where you can! *sniffles* πŸ˜‰

Blogger Recognition Award

B-b-b-b-blogger recognition, woot woot!!

So, I was nominated for this award by TWO LOVELY people:

  1. Lottie at Run Rabbit Run
  2. Athina at Courage Coaching

BOTH of these people are remarkably awesome and fantastic. Athina, I’ve only just met you from your generous nomination, however your blog is AWESOME and I LOVE the work you’re doing for the community and hope you get all the love and recognition from followers that you deserve!! ❀

And Lottie is someone special to my heart who is the greatest woman out there, a survivor lad and courageous and getting ready to share her story with the world–via her blog and her book! I’ll definitely be wanting to read a copy when it comes out, love! ❀ Keep on writing!! ❀

So let’s get this started! PARTY TIMEEEE!

Image from Google!

Le Rules:

Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
Write a post to show your award.

Attach the award to the post.

Give a brief story on how your blog started.

Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers.

Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to.

Comment on each blog and let them know you nominated them.

So, 15 bloggers is a LOT and I’m not gonna do 30, I mean, if I were up on that LEVEL I would but I’m not there yet, but I will do…hmm, 4 or 5!

How the blog started:

I started this blog when I was angrily searching for jobs during finals week of the spring 2016 semester. I wasn’t finding much of mental health related ones that I could actually do without a bachelor’s degree, and so I started looking at writing jobs and found one site that had a long requirement for sending in a submission and even more frustrated I decided all of a sudden, right then and there, to create THIS blog. I used the name from a same named group I have on my deviantART account, Recovery-to-Wellness.

How the blog is maintained:

Adding this one for the double factor of nomination. I maintain this blog through book reviews, teachable moments, daily prompts, artwork (as well as gift art), life updates, mental health awareness, recovery, positive coping strategies, Mass Media articles, and lots more.

Some days I get more time to post a lot, other times I am doing either so well or so shit that I just don’t get to post! I prefer to be a bit more on the quiet side when it comes to venting on here, although I’ve done it sometimes with varying results. Venting, with the exception of in person, isn’t helpful for me, and can even be harmful. And that’s not entirely the atmosphere that connects with Recovery to Wellness. It’s a balance, for sure, but I’ll always be honest with you guys–once I’m being honest with myself. So you’ll see the good and the difficult, and I’ll do my best to maintain positivity and optimism so we can both have faith that wellness is achievable and recovery is possible. πŸ™‚

Plus, I truly do believe that I have a story worth telling and some great resources worth spreading online. So there’s that. πŸ˜‰

My Tips for New Bloggers:

  1. Browse through the tags. That’s how I started finding other blogs and posts that were relevant to what I wanted to learn about and follow, and you can find some great people through this. As well as having other people find you through your own use of tags!
  2. Have fun with your blog’s design. I know that while the awesome purple hydrangeas are a fitting backdrop to this blog, as of right now, I also know I’ve gotten used to it and that it can be hard to read the texts in some places (and more so on some devices besides a laptop), however, I’ve grown comfortable with it and it’s a bit of my style to have text harder to read than most. Also, while I can be bold with my thoughts, I’m not sure I’m ready yet for being BOLD and VISIBLE with all my words centered and as the main focus. If that makes sense? So, my advice, layout how you want to layout based on your comfortability level and what works for you at this point in time.
  3. Keep in mind your values as a person and your message as a blogger. You may start out blogging with X theme, and discover other themes or topics you want to include. Be open to your Muse and see where it takes you.
  4. I saw this in another post, and I do agree, write an ‘About Me’ section and utilize a ‘contact’ page. When I go to a new blogger I go pretty quickly to the about them section to get a gist of who they are and what they blog about and determine if I’m interested in following them. And for the contact page, personally I like the idea of being able to contact them directly, in case, for instance, we live in the same area and could potentially meet up! πŸ˜€

Speaking of, I remembered I have another award to do, too!!

Any who, those are my tips and more about me! πŸ™‚ I have some fancy DESK photos and other fanciful things to update you guys on soon. I’ll have to out of my blogging shell soon to have dinner with uncles and aunts. My, oh my.

Here are my nominees:

1, Orchid’s View

2, Blooming Lily

3, Sober girl

4, Our Crappy Demons

5, Anonymous

Stay safe, peeps! ❀ ❀ ❀

#RecoveryHome Week #1 | Details Inside

Let’s make this motherfucker a thing, shall we?

Week #1 of #RecoveryHome, starting on a Tuesday, hellls yeah rebelliousness!!

So, let’s first cover what exactly #RecoveryHome IS!

#RecoveryHome is all about us working together to build what we imagine our individual Recovery Home’s to look like. This means being extra specially awesomely imaginative. Recovery Home is also about changing our focus from all the pain that our struggles of mental health entail, to instead focus on all the beauty that life has yet to offer us, now, today, or in the future. It’s about making our dreams shine brightly and make them, where possible, to come true. Recovery Home is about making your journey of recovery to wellness that extra bit more special to you.

#RecoveryHome is in its very, very early youth. It’s not even a being yet, it’s a fetus, still. That’s how young and new it is. πŸ™‚

But I’d like to invite you on this unplanned and so far, unstructured journey of #RecoveryHome for at least the duration of July, if not, maybe a few weeks longer. It all depends how it goes. πŸ™‚

So, if you’d like to join me on the fun of #RecoveryHome, here is our first step!!

Within the next week, (by Tuesday July 12th at 12:00p Eastern Time) create a post on your blog in regards to the following (and if you come up with other ideas, feel free to explore those too!!):

  1. What is YOUR definition of your Recovery?

  2. To imagine your Journey of Recovery as a location, whether it’s binding to reality or exploring the fictitious, what would it look like? Describe it in as much detail as possible.

  3. What is aiding you in your pursuit of Recovery? What are ways that you positively cope, who do you reach out to for support, etc.

  4. Begin building your #RecoveryHome by naming some of the streets and businesses (real or imagined) that you feel would exist there.

  5. How will you incorporate what you love and what makes you happy and positive into your Recovery home’s area? (i.e. would your best friend be right next door, would your family have a suite of their own, would you go out every Friday for a fun outing with family/friends, etc.)

By building up our way through these first 5 steps, we’ll bridge our way into Week #2’s challenge which will start with the creative process of creating what our #RecoveryHome’s look like and involve…. Think of this as a form of art therapy. By a non-degree professional, which is me. lmao

If you’re interested in jumping aboard this fine train, I’ll certainly be making posts about it, to answer my own questions, woot! And if you are interested, do let me know down in the comments! I’d love to hear from you guys. And if you’re a reader of this blog without a WP account, feel free to contact me on my Contact page, and if you’d like to participate through that way, let me know, too!!!

#RecoveryHome is going to everybody!!! Who knows of it, at least. ^^;

❀ See you later this week when I talk about my posts for it and other related shenanigans. (I may or may not have time tomorrow to chat with you all as I have therapy in the afternoon, so if I don’t make an appearance I’ll see you lot on Th. As today I have the OCD support group in the evening. πŸ™‚ ) Which I need to work on stuff for…. *shifty gaze*

Stay safe!!!

Little Engine Tag + It’s A MONDAY

Last tag to do, yippee! πŸ™‚ Then, I’ll be all caught up. πŸ™‚

  • Each answer you give to a question has to be more than two sentences long. Or at the very least, you have to make those two sentences meaningful.
  • There will be two bonus questions at the end, that the blogger gets to change to whatever they want to ask when they nominate someone else. The first six questions, however, are set in stone.
  • At the end you must nominate three to five other bloggers. Okay, so you don’t have to, but that would be nice if you could.

So, I was nominated for this tag a couple weeks ago by Jay who is a pretty awesome gal with a very neat blog! She’s super artsy too, so go check her out! πŸ™‚

Onto le questions!

  1. What’s one of your biggest pet peeves? Well, one is when I want to give a compliment to someone in public but they have their earphones in so I wind up not giving them one :O
  2. What is your favorite song at the moment? I also agree, I’ve been listening to Adele’s ‘ Send my love to your new lover’ a WHOLE BUNCH. 98 repeats on :3 Hehe
  3. What’s the nicest thing you’ve seen someone do recently? I can’t really think of anything, as of right now as I haven’t been out of the house in a few days, but I’d say that I’ve gotten some wonderful compliments about my writing and this blog so that’s sweet and swell. :3
  4. What’s something you regret doing? I don’t have many regrets, although I do regret not knowing about mental health struggles in high school, as I think I could have offered more to my friends who were going through hard times. At least, for other peers now I can be of better help. πŸ™‚
  5. If you could take only three items with you to a desert island, what would they be, and why? Fuck items, I’ll bring Jeanine and Queen Bee with me, at least we’d have a fun time there! And lastly I’d bring some art stuff, so we can also be creative as we likely slowly die on that poor island because I dragged my friends down with me for company lmao. You’re welcome!! *salutes*
  6. Β Explain the meaning behind your blog title.Β  Recovery to Wellness means stretching from one pole (recovery) to another (wellness) and moving through everything in between that (like Struggle Lane, Lapse Circle, Relapse Blvd) and overcoming our bad days by finding the positive in them and making our good days EXCELLENT days. Recovery to Wellness is the pursuit of getting better from mental health issues. πŸ™‚
  7. What is oneΒ memory that makes you smile? These videos:

4. The time me and three of my friends were in college in our first year and we laughed hysterically and awesomely for legit two hours straight. It was the best time EVER. It was freakin hilarious. We were in the old science building and people could hear us from down by the girl’s room, it was AWESOME. And we cleared out the building pretty well πŸ˜‰ We were laughing so much we were laughing about our laughs. πŸ˜€

Quick Post

So I forgot how I had a perfect video to link to for yesterday’s daily prompt | Island so I’m going to make it right here and also mention a little something something else.

It’s a really great song and an awesome music video!! Very artsy and symbolic, do go check it out! πŸ˜€

The other thing I’d like to quickly say is I am now reading that BPD book and that I’m going to spend some time thinking and tinkering around with that #RecoveryHome tag thingy for tomorrow to start. I may wind up making it up as I go along, but if you’d like to participate in it, either let me know or stop on by when I make an official post about it!! I’m hoping to have it be artsy in nature but also do some type of journaling/blogging component about answering some questions and such. πŸ™‚

I hope it’d be fun though!! πŸ™‚

So, stay tuned!!

The Entertainer Award

This post is brought to you by:

By which I was nominated by the oh so lovely and wonderful and very interesting and awesome blogger: Mental Health Land

So without further adoooo, let’s jump on in! OR we can hop scotch our way in! LEGASP

The Rules:

  • Write a post with the award picture.
  • Nominate 12 other bloggers who are funny, inspiring, and, most important of all, ENTERTAINING!
  • Thank the person who nominated you and leave a link to their blog!
  • Also, answer the 5 questions.

When I think about entertainment, it encompasses a range of implications…

…. Did I laugh?

…. Did I cry?

…. Did I learn? >> I actually hadn’t ever considered learning to be in the category of entertainment before now, but it does make sense to me. This little bit encourages me more too, as I use a lot of Youtube to learn stuff! Just my little 5 cents! πŸ™‚

The following people have made me do one of those three things. I’m sure they’d do the same for you as well.

  1. Why did you start a blog in the first place?Β

Oh, me and this question, we go WAY back!! XD I started a blog in the first place because I was angrily searching for jobs and couldn’t find any to my taste (AKA within the mental health field that’s non-degree), so then I started looking for writing jobs and I did stumble upon one website that offered an outlet, but the application process was rather long and I hadn’t any experience in blogging so I angrily came to WordPress and spontaneously made an account. That’s how it really happened, although the name I used for this blog is from an art group I made on DA where the mission for that is the same for this blog: to spread awareness about mental health issues and, maybe more importantly, spread the positive word about Recovery and striving for wellness and getting better and living and loving life, despite the bullshit it throws our way.

I hope to be of helpful service-ness through this blog, by sharing and opening up about my own mental health struggles and what I’ve come to learn through my time in treatment. I’d like to think to myself that I’m already making an impact, which is super awesome and honorable. I can’t wait to see how much farther we can all go!! πŸ™‚

2. What is yourΒ favoriteΒ book?

Oooo, um, well I really loved “A Pleasure and A Calling” by Phil Hogan. I also enjoy reading “Kitchen Table Wisdom” by Rachel Naomi Remen. I used to love the Animorphs and Avalon and Goosebumps books from waaayyyy back in the day!! I also loved ‘You Came Back’ by Christopher Coake. And I like the Life As We Knew It series by Susan Beth Pfeffer. So yeah. Oh, and Fuck Feelings by Michael & Sarah Bennett. πŸ˜€

3. What do you dislike the most?Β

As my fellow mental health blogger stated, I’d say terminology/word choice and mental health. I absolutely cringe at the terms ‘crazy’ ‘insane’ ‘committed’ suicide or maybe the worst “successful” suicide. Ooof. I also cringe at “my” X (whatever illness that may be). I just tend to correct people in my head and sometimes aloud. I do understand that words mean different things to each people but unfortunately in the media and entertainment terms like ‘crazy’ and misconceptions about suicide are flung around without the ignorant fool realizing what they’re doing. Oh boy, does it make me mad!

4. What is yourΒ favoriteΒ food item from the mall?

I’m a sucker for sweets, so like smoothies or ice cream or froyo. I’m a sucker and a goner for ’em!

5. What is yourΒ favoriteΒ pastime activity?Β

Oh boy! Art in all of its many branches, for sure. As well as relaxing to some Youtube videos, listening to music, blogging and reading. πŸ™‚

For nominees, 12 is a LOT and I’m feeling some levels of my laziness. And I can’t quite recall who is and who isn’t an award free blog, but I’d recommend any of my fellow mental health peeps out there as well as any fun stranger who happens across this and is interested in taking part!! πŸ™‚

That’s all for this post!! I’m likely going to have up another quick post after this one πŸ™‚

Stay safe, peeps!

Happiness Tag

*Lovely sigh* So, today is the day for some tag/award posts πŸ™‚

I’ve thus far today, napped, ate, made 3 new bracelets (it’s been a LONGGGG time since I’ve done this!! And of course I’m gonna show you guys!) and am now working on some blogging stuffs and probably do some reading later tonight. I think I’m going to read the book I have out on BPD first and then once I finish that, I’ll read that Procrastination book. Mainly, I have these two and two others that I finished all due on July 14th, so I’ve got to be smart about having time to read them and book review them, which so far takes about 2-3 days on average. Including the reading, depending on its length and how into the story I get. :3 As of this weekend, I’ve also gotten the bookworm inching its way into my current books that I own, so I want to look into those once I finish my library check outs.

When I start my Stats class, I’ll have to learn to balance everything, but I think if I can keep reading into the summer that’d be swell. I have some other books I can read for exposures, too. Essentially, I’ve got some lists to go through, hehe.

But, update aside! Let’s proceed into this happiness tag!!

Happiness Tag

So, I got this happiness tag from the ever so lovely Queen Bee

And because it’s been a few hours since I last started this piece, let’s just jump right in! We all know by now how utterly amazing, inspiring, badass and what a SURVIVOR Queen Bee is anyhow πŸ˜‰ Love ya, cinnamon bun!! ❀ ❀

5 Things that make me happy:

Whether it’s looking at other people’s artwork here on WordPress or on deviantART, or through stores (like Pier 1 Imports) or magazines or museums (although I don’t often go to them, I tend to find them boring :P) , or my friend’s artwork, I just LOVE art. From my own photography to bracelets to creative writing to fanfiction to drawing and painting and watercoloring and COLORING in general, man, it’s a wonderful list!! I love those little polymer clay things people can make, and I’ve made a couple of tiny things myself. I love nail art and just the wide VARIETY that exists in the artistic world.

Particularly, I enjoy drawing from that core of art therapy and mindfulness. Where it doesn’t matter how the product comes out, and you don’t judge it for ‘good’ or ‘bad’ it just is and you live through the process of creating it. It is so very LIBERATING and it’s gotten me to see all the creativity and artistic talent that exists in the world–from super gifted artists to more simplistic creations.

I just LOVE the Target Dollar Spot, where items are $1 to $3 and there’s so much fancy, creative things. I love the idea of planners (I don’t have enough going on in my life to really make use of them though), and stickers, and WASHI TAPE, and STICKERS, note pads and PAGE FLAGS and just really adorable things like that. ^^’ *cries out of its beauty*

I love watching people do haul videos of this creative stuff, like Cheap Crafty Girl’s YT , Coupon to Provide YT , and just a bunch of other Youtuber’s who do crafty things and planner organization shit. Fucking love it.

Recovery Key! Bracelet from 2015, inspired from a drawing in my first sketchbook that I’ll eventually upload for you guys πŸ˜‰

Getting back into reading this year has been OH SO wonderful. πŸ™‚ It started from a couple of books I took out at the library and then I had 9 out and I’m down that list onto 6 more to read of my current batch and then another 10 to read afterwards and then the ones I have within my own bookshelf. πŸ™‚

Reading makes me happy because I get to explore creative worlds and brush up on my own creative writing and add ideas to my brain and creative outlets. I also like getting to learn about different things and it’s been especially nice branching out into doing book reviews on here. Which leads me toooooo….

Blogging is super fun and I really enjoy it. It’s definitely helped to keep me busy over this past month of June, and I’m surprised June went by as quick as it did! I also like being able to share my voice into the world and gaining such loyal friendships through my short time here so far. It’s a little mind boggling still to think that some people will be able to find my what’s still new work, as old work some time into the future, but that’s also very exciting too! Now if I can only learn to balance myself from here and DA…. ^^’

Title: ‘Cyborg’

πŸ˜€ I cheat! But she herself, as a person, and her music definitely makes me happy! Which is a good segway seaway, whatever that’s called!

5 Songs that Make Me Happy

RACHEL PLATTEN: Fight Song, A Better Place, Lonely Planet and pretty much everything else on the Wildfire CD πŸ˜‰ Which I totally went out and BOUGHT. THAT’s DEDICATION AND TRUE LOVE. I’ll link Fight Song here, it is the body electric of this blog πŸ˜‰

I also like this song :3

Haven’t listened to this one properly in a while, but it is a fave!

I just heard this one on the radio yesterday, but I like the concept that you can never live if you’re too scared to die. ❀

And this one!

I feel it would be best for me to take the time out of my day and the midst of this post to go find other bloggers to nominate this award to, but, I’m just too lazy today lmao. Sorry! ^^’

If YOU want to do it, DO IT! It is fun and we get to share our happiness with the world, hooray!!! πŸ˜€

Until next time!! πŸ˜€

Stay safe! ❀ And spread that damn positivity! πŸ˜‰

Go out there and live like this colorful butterfly rainbow inspired gem!! πŸ˜€

Liebster Award – #4

Hello, hello again my friends!!! *sticks tongue out* Hope you’re all doing swimmingly, and if not, go punch that shark in the nose!! And if that doesn’t make you smirk, message me for some one-on-one joke battles! πŸ™‚

Any who, I’m back from some chalk drawing and some art idea brain cooking (as in, my brain’s been cooking up some cool art ideas for the future) and some minimal cleaning and moral supporting from the garage clean out. Hoooplah!! With my fancy painted pink nails and some artsy photos to be included in this post, let’s get started!

So, this award is my newest nominated Liebster from mlbradford

Who is a very awesome and amazing individual with kind words to his name and some very interesting interests in sci-fi, comics and more!! πŸ™‚

So, without further ado, because that IS fun to say πŸ˜‰ Let’s get started again!

From Le Google!

  1. Which novel/comic first inspired you to take up writing?
    1. Definitely ‘Animorphs’ and ‘Avalon’ played a role in me taking up creative writing when I was 9. I used those types of stories as a somewhat plagiarized sounding board from which the characters were made up of myself and my friends and we had fancy magical powers and the ability to turn into animals when we wanted and one of them was our archenemy and we had to save the world from the bad powers that be. Essentially, what those books were about, just a little bit of a twist? Oh, and time travel. there was one story where we went back to the dinosaur age (I totally had my dinosaurs phase) and we had to make it out alive back to our time and another time where something similar happened again. I liked to be dramatic and use “THE END…or is it?” πŸ™‚ I’m pretty sure that dinosaur story was titled something like “When Dinosaurs Come Back to Life”

2. Which novel/comic book character should get his/her own movie?

2. (HTML/formatting can be a serious bitch! :P) Ummmm, Black Widow for sure. Loki should have his own movies too. Just Loki. No Thor. It’d be nice, one can dream!!! πŸ™‚ As for a novel….I’m curious to see that one movie based on a book where the female character dies but sees her life before it happened or something like that. I’m getting curious about it now, as I looked at the book before and recognized it but didn’t read it or buy it. Now though, I’d like to check it out. I also think that a movie on “You Came Back” by Christopher Coake would be awesome! That’s a book review I still want to do for you folks! ❀

3. What’s your favourite word?

3. Meninges. It’s just so fun to say!

4. Who is your favourite villain, and why?

4. Loki! And because he’s a complex character. As a fanfic writer and a fanfic reader, there’s so many different explorations people have engaged in with his character outside of the films (or comics or Norse mythology) and that exploration has given me a deeper understanding and love for his character despite his obvious faults and flaws. He’s complicated and snarky and refreshing. As for the films side, I think it’s cool that we get to see more dimension to him as an opposing force to Thor, and how, while misguided, his actions come from a flawed system of neglect and misunderstanding. I mean, if I found out thousands of years later that I was adopted by a race that I was taught to be fearful of or kill, I think that would mess me up too! I think Loki can be a relatable character for the ANGST which is funny and also for older peeps too. Those are my thoughts at least! πŸ™‚ (P.S. Tom Hiddleston. Reason enough! He’s a talented actor, fine gentleman and very adorable! I can’t help but love him!)

5. What is the single GREATEST scene in science fiction movie history?

5. I don’t know if I watch much sci-fi movies. And if I do, I can’t recall a particular scene… 😦

An old IOS, not sure why I always catch these photos with my journal noting that I need to use the bathroom facilities but that’s besides the pretty picture! Just want to put up a couple of art pieces around these walls of text O_O March 4.2016

6. If you could invite 3 famous people to dinner, who would you choose?

6. Tom Hiddleston. Robert Downey Jr. annnnnd Rachel Platten. That would be quite the entertaining dinner!

7. Absolutely DREAD the prospect of Blade Runner 2! Which sequel/remake do you NOT wish to see?!

7. I wish Robocop hadn’t happened. The remake that is. I heard it was pretty shit. I never saw the original but I’d still really like to. Just a shame man, just a shame. *shakes head*

8. Which book do you wish you had written?

8. I don’t know….I think I’ll save that chance for when I write and or publish something myself! I’ve seen some fancy colorfully artsy and poetry/quotes books, so that’s neat, maybe something like that for myself from my own brains would be fun! πŸ™‚

9. What will be the next book you want to buy?

9. Oooof, I really shouldn’t, but probably either this drawing tip book I’ve been eyeing for about $8 at Barnes & Noble or another positive book or a psychology type book or probably that book by Janet Singer on recovery from OCD, or a fancy novel… I don’t know. Something interesting and that will stay on my shelf for a while since I have out like 9 books from the library at the moment, lmao.

10. What aspect about writing/blogging do you enjoy the most?

10. Oooh, this one makes me think. I like when I’m starting a blog post and the scroll bar appears so I can move downwards as I write. Lmao. I also like creating something out of nothing. And I like talking about myself or what I’m up to. I guess just the exploration of it is captivating. πŸ™‚Β

For creative writing, I enjoy getting to KNOW characters and people and backstories to a fictional being… it’s very wonky if you think of imagination in that way, yet it’s euphoric and lovely. ❀

11. How is it that this blogger can EAT SO MUCH CAKE and STILL be a perfect example of hunky manliness?

11. Bruh, ’cause you got them magic powers! Ain’t nobody got shit on you! πŸ˜‰

Okay! So my 11 blogger nominees…. I’d list you out but I’m just lazy. Whoever WANTS to do it and is INTRIGUED by the questions I ask of ye, feel free to take up this quest!!! ❀ ❀ ❀

My LE Questions:

  1. What structure or lack thereof does your blog/blogging style exude? (i.e. do you work on daily/weekly posts or just do it on a whim?)
  2. What do you like about your current blog’s theme?
  3. Favorite hobby?
  4. If you could have a dream location to exist in, real or fictional, where would it be and describe it!
  5. How do you really feel about stationary? ❀
  6. If you could add one task into your daily life more than you do now, what would it be and why?
  7. Your spirit animal?
  8. Ever been in therapy? How was your experience?
  9. Ever had surgery?
  10. What causes do you support/mean the most to you personally?
  11. What are 3 of your values?

Phew!! We made it to the end!! πŸ˜€

Now for a couple of chalk drawings I did today ❀ πŸ™‚

Moon and Sun. Blended lightly πŸ™‚

A girl with her eyes closed. She has on bright pink eye shadow and lipstick. Fancy hair, particularly on the left side. There are eyebrows/feature of a nose here it’s just hard to see. I was going to do a sun originally, hence the skin tone. πŸ™‚ Signed and everything!

Art Idea #1 for Chalk! This is our front path, I’m thinking I could do an open mouth (lips/teeth) on the stairs and then have the path be rainbow puke. I think it’d look AWESOME, I just gotta practice it out on paper a few times then try it out with the chalk a few times too. πŸ™‚ I’ll keep you guys updated on the process!

I’ll include some photography updates within a larger art update later this evening!!! ❀ Hope you guys enjoyed this!!
